FAQ
01 · The Water
No. Our Discover Scuba Diving programme is designed for total beginners — no licence required. You'll spend a few minutes on shore learning to breathe underwater with an instructor, then do 2 supervised dives to about 12 m. If you love it, ask about the full Open Water Course to become a certified diver worldwide.
Krabi has two seasons. The peak / dry season is November through April — calm seas, 20–30 m visibility, everything is running. The green season is May through October — visibility drops to 8–15 m, and some far-side sites (Similans, King Cruiser wreck) may be closed by the marine park. We dive year-round; only the far-side liveaboards pause.
Warm all year: 28–30 °C at the surface, dropping a couple of degrees at depth. A 3 mm shorty or full suit is enough for most divers; if you get cold easily, a 5 mm is available.
Most Krabi sites (the local islands, Phi Phi, Shark Point, Anemone Reef) have mild to moderate currents. The King Cruiser wreck can pick up on strong tidal exchanges. Your guide will brief the current on the day and choose an entry point accordingly.
From Ao Nang: local islands ~20–40 min, Phi Phi ~90 min, Shark Point / King Cruiser ~90 min. We depart around 08:00–09:00 and typically return by 16:30.
Depth follows your certification: Open Water — 18 m, Advanced Open Water — 30 m, Deep / Tec certified — 40 m+. Discover Scuba Diving (no cert) is capped at 12 m.
Yes. Our Seal Team programme is pool-based for kids aged 8+. From 10 years old they can do a Discover Scuba Diving experience or start the Open Water Course (with parental consent + medical clearance).
We recommend taking Dramamine or Stugeron the night before + morning of. We keep spare seasickness tablets on the boat. Boats depart from the sheltered Ao Nang bay, so the first stretch is usually calm.
Most conditions are dive-compatible with a doctor's clearance. All divers complete a PADI medical statement before the first dive — if you tick "yes" to any item, we ask for a dive-fitness certificate from a doctor (ideally a hyperbaric-trained one). Any qualified doctor in Krabi can issue one on the same day. If unsure, WhatsApp us the specifics in advance.
Yes — there is no medical restriction. Use whichever protection you're comfortable with. Sharks are not attracted; this is a persistent myth.
Rain doesn't affect visibility much underwater — we dive through it. Sea conditions are the deciding factor. If the captain decides the crossing isn't safe, we'll either reroute to a sheltered site (there are plenty on the east coast) or offer a full refund / reschedule. Safety > schedule.
Discover Scuba Diving: 1 instructor : 2 students (max).
Open Water Course: 1 instructor : 4 students.
Fun dives: 1 divemaster : up to 6 certified divers, though we usually run smaller groups.
Tec / Cave courses: 1 instructor : 2 students maximum.
If you're 12+ months out, yes — a Refresher session (3,500 THB, half day) resets essential skills in confined water before the ocean. Highly recommended for peace of mind and buoyancy control.

03 · The Shop & Beyond
Our shop and boats operate from Ao Nang, Krabi's beach hub and the main departure point for dive boats — about 30 min from Krabi International Airport and 25 min from Krabi Town.
English (fluent), Thai (native), and Mandarin Chinese. For other languages we can arrange in advance — French, German, Russian, and Japanese are all available on request.
We run spacious dive boats with dedicated gear-up benches, shaded main deck, freshwater rinse tanks, marine toilet, cold drinks and hot lunch onboard.
Thai-style lunch (rice, curry, veggies, fruit) plus water, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and light snacks. Vegetarian, halal, and other dietary needs — tell us when you book and we'll arrange.
The easiest option is to stay with us — our accommodation partner Vacation Village is right by the dive centre in Ao Nang, with pool, restaurant and dive-and-stay packages. Otherwise anywhere in Ao Nang or Krabi Town works; pickup is included.
Old Krabi Town (weekend walking street), Big Buddha viewpoint, Wat Ao Nang temple, Promthep Cape sunset, Phi Phi day trip, elephant sanctuaries (ethical ones only — ask us for recommendations), James Bond island, and of course the beaches. We can help arrange trusted tour operators for your rest day.
Yes, free parking at Ao Nang plaza right next to our boats. Motorbike parking is directly outside the shop.
Do not fly within 18 hours of a single no-decompression dive, or 24 hours after multiple / repetitive dives. For technical / decompression dives, wait 48 hours. Plan your last dive accordingly — we always ask when your flight leaves so you don't book by mistake.
